How much wax do I use?
You’re new to candle making. You have your wax, your supplies, and the container you want to fill. Now you have to figure out how much wax to melt to fill the container up to the top. The only problem is that your measurements are in weight, yet your container is in fluid ounces. How do you know how much wax to melt?!
This is a question that almost every candle maker has had when they first start making candles. Below, I created a quick video that shows how much wax weighs at various volumes. The wax that I am using is Golden Brands 464, which is a soy wax for containers. This is a good starting point, but as I state in the video, each wax has different densities and may have a different volume to weight ratio.
